South Goa is the southern part of Goa. Goa itself is split into districts: North Goa and South Goa. South Goa is known for its calm surroundings as compared to the large and busy ecosystem of North Goa. it’s miles positioned within the southwest of India, bordering the Arabian Sea to the west.

For administrative purposes it’s divided into 7 talukas-Salcete, Quepem, Canacona, Sanguem, Dharbandora, Ponda & Mormugao (Vasco-da-Gama)

Climate: The district enjoys a tropical monsoon weather with hot summers, a rainy monsoon season (June to September), and moderate winters.

Biodiversity: The district includes flora and fauna sanctuaries which includes the Bhagwan Mahavir natural world Sanctuary and the Cotigao wildlife Sanctuary, wealthy in plants and fauna, such as some endemic species
